Scott Lafleur, Botanic Garden Director, remembers 2009 . . . June was cold and wet. July brought hail. November saw temperatures in the 70’s and December brought thunder and lightening! It has been quite a year. Even though New England weather can be trying at times, the winter season allows us to press the big reset button, sit back, and evaluate our gardens. Did we make the right plant choices? Did we plant them in the right spot? Is this really the design I am sticking with? At this point, you are probably thinking about your next gardening season before you have taken the time to tuck-in your garden for its long winters rest.
