Native Herbaceous Plant Materials: Early Season
A wealth of native herbaceous plants are suitable for growing in New England gardens! Designed for anyone wanting to work at a professional level with native plants or the avid home gardener, this course examines the characteristics of horticulturally significant, native plants that grow and/or flower early in the season. We’ll look at how various species can be used in a designed landscape and how understanding a plant’s native habitat can make us better gardeners and designers. During each class, we spend time both in the classroom and walking in the Garden. Be prepared for walking outdoors and some hilly terrain. This course is a companion to HOR1050, but either can be taken separately.
